I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from ASU in 1994; that included internships in neuropsychological assessment, trauma, depression, ADHD, burn patient recovery, forensic treatment, chemical dependency, and assessment/treatment of the Seriously Mentally Ill. I was very fortunate to follow that with a 3-year post-doc at the Betty Ford Center where I worked in both Inpatient and Family Programs.
I am trained and experienced in the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders, with expertise in mood and substance-use disorders, family systems, developmental trauma, and conflict-resolution.
In 2001, I developed and taught a Mood-Altering Drugs course for Maricopa Community Colleges while establishing a private practice. I’ve been facilitating comprehensive Family Interventions for 25+ years, and counseled weekly Physicians’ Relapse Prevention groups for the Arizona Medical Board for 18 years.
In 2021 I stopped practicing psychology and shifted my focus to education and coaching where my focus is teaching, guiding, and helping people bloom where they’re planted. 43 years of personal recovery from alcohol has been my greatest education and continues to serve as the foundation for all of it.
